Know what you hope to get out of mentoring, take the time to ask around and vet a couple of mentors. I like to read their testimonials and lurk on their content to get to know them first. Set up a couple of discovery calls to see if you like the person. Then ask the right questions and listen to your heart to find "THE ONE".

Like learning to drive or operate a machine, online businesses have a lot of moving parts and specific systems, so you'll want a user's manual.

-Ambition to be successful ("winner's attitude")

-Hunger to make money not for pocket change but for real (profit-driven, at least to make a normal income)

-Resilience to go all the way to win "no matter what" (persist on to the finish line, not let failure detour them)

I review and analyze every little detail of my client’s business, looking for where to improve sales and customer experiences via assessments and health check ins.

I am blunt and direct with feedback.

I constantly follow my clients' social media, email, and website activity to support them as well as help them improve, sometimes even writing their posts myself (yep, I can be really annoying!)

I send voicemails to my clients and chat with them all the time.

I give homework. You betcha!

Not all will like this approach. It can be intense and even intimidating to have such scrutiny in your business. But I know big attention yields big results.

People who are filled with self-doubt and insecurity and let it consume them with negative self-talk and destroy their energy
